Rooted in care, boundaries, and collective healing, our mission is to create safe, supportive spaces for BIPOC adoptees to connect, share stories, and access resources that center their lived experiences.

The Conference Impact Report highlights key outcomes, participant feedback, and measurable impacts. It demonstrates how the event advanced adoptee justice, challenged dominant narratives, and created spaces for dialogue. Through storytelling, workshops, and resource-sharing, the conference strengthened networks and empowered attendees, reaffirming the need for ongoing advocacy.

Adoption Literacy (AL) offers a transformative framework for counselors to ethically and competently support adult adoptees. Centered on the H.O.P.E. model—Humanize adoptee narratives, Own your part in the story, Promote adoptee-specific resources, and Elevate adoptees into positions of influence—AL fosters healing, empowerment, and systemic change. By integrating trauma-informed care and promoting adoptee-led advocacy, AL addresses lifelong needs while challenging dominant adoption narratives. – By Cameron Lee Small
